Reema digital safety platform held the training on protecting girls and women with disabilities from digital blackmail

The training was for twenty participants with Physical, Hearing, Visual, and mental disabilities and short stature participated in the training for two days, December 4-5, 2023.

The Raymah Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response, is the first local organization hold such a training targeting girls and women with disabilities. This training came as a result of incidents of electronic blackmail practiced against girls and women in general and girls and women with disabilities in particular. The participants were trained on how to protect their social media accounts so that they are not exposed to any form of electronic blackmail.

Many provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities related to training have been reversed so that participants can work to protect themselves from digital blackmail by learning about their rights and working from a human rights perspective.
